Gabriele Lelli is an architect, graduated at the Faculty of Architecture of Florence.
At present he is a Researcher and Associate Professor of Architectural and Urban Composition at Ferrara University, Faculty of Architecture. He carries out research activities in the field of contemporary urban and architectural design, from the scale of the city, through the study of the settlement principles that generate it, to the detail of small spaces and of the small things that create the atmospheres. He is involved in sustainable architecture and urban redevelopment. Apart from Ferrara, he has been Professor at Venice University (IUAV di Venezia), at the Mendrisio Accademy of Architecture, in Switzerland and in the Basque country, in the cities of Vitoria, Bilbao and San Sebastian, Spain. He has carried out educational activities first with Mario Zaffagnini, and then, for a long time, with Massimo Carmassi. Moreover, he has collaborated for several years with the Swiss architect Peter Zumthor, the 2009 Laureate of the Pritzker Architecture Prize. He has held lessons and conferences in Italy and abroad.
The theoretical-compositional research lead especially to the realization of concrete and projects in the country through a constant work in the firm. First he founded, with Davide Cristofani, the firm Cristofani & Lelli Architetti and in 2009, and later with Roberta Bandini and Andrea Luccaroni, the firm Lelli & Associati Architettura, now "LBLA + partners". Several of the works realized have obtained national and international awards.
